Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas today! We had our "traditional" Christmas breakfast at our house with Kay and Randy. Then we opened our presents with them. It was great! Kris surprised me with a David Yurman bracelet that has the March birthstone (for Karson). It was a great surprise! Of course Hogan got lots of new toys too! He had a blast playing with them as we opened our gifts. Oh, and we got a new hardwood floor for the nursery from Kay and Randy. It was exactly what we needed and looks great!
After that we headed down to Midlothian to have Christmas with my family. It was great to spend time with them. Madsion got lots of new board games, so we played plenty of games. She beat Kris and me at Connect 4. Kris got a new flip camera from my parents. It will be great to video Karson once he gets here. It was a great Christmas!
A White Christmas
It snowed last night so we woke up to a "White Christmas" this morning here are pictures of the house covered in snow. We heard this morning on the tv that the last Christmas it snowed here was in the 1920s! So I guess we won't see another one of these again anytime soon.
Hogan seemed to really like the snow. He loved playing in it! He also loved to eat it!

Christmas Eve
The coin bank for Karson
Kris must have really like the pie!
His grandma got a pink Snuggie, but I think he looks like a bottle of Pepto Bismol!!!
It was a nice evening with family. We had to cut the evening a little short because the weather was starting to get bad and the roads were getting icy. It took forever to get home and there were quite a few wrecks on the way home. But we all made it home safely.

We spent Christmas Eve at Kris' grandparents house with his family. We had a wonderful Mexican fiesta for dinner. Kris made most of it. I tried to help as much as I could. It was fun to be the cooks for once.
We opened presents there too. Papa is making me a jewelry box. It is very neat! Karson got a handmade coin bank from Kris' uncle Steven. It is very cool! I am sure he will save all his pennies in it.

Radio City Rocketts
Mandy, Madison, Mom and I went to go see the Rocketts Christmas Spectacular. I had seen it before here and in New York, but it was Madison's first time. It was a great show! I think she really enjoyed it! She just stared at the stage the whole show. I guess she was in awe of how great there were!!!!

Christmas Costume Party
Kris as Blitzen
Me as a Silver Christmas Tree
Me as a Silver Christmas Tree
Our friends "The Twins" (Elizabeth & Caroline) had a Christmas costume party. It was a lot of fun. I went as a Christmas tree. Kris went as Blitzen. His costume needed a little explaining. He wore a DeMarcus Ware jersey (he is a football player for the Cowboys) and antlers. The football player plays defense so he is known for blitzing. So blitzing plus antlers equals Blitzen.

Isn't He the Cutest?!?!?!
"Thanks Grandma, for my new P.J.'s"
Hogan went to "Doggie Daycare" yesterday while we got brand new windows (I will blog about that this weekend). Anyway he must not have slept very much because he came home exhausted! Then to top it off Kay sent him some cute P.J.'s. They look like a baby onesie! At first he wasn't too sure about them, but either he was too exhausted to mess with them or they grew on him because he fell asleep at 7:30 with them on and slept in them until it was time for us to go to bed. I think he looks pretty cute.
On a side note we also realized last night that we have had Hogan for exactly a year today. He is definitely bigger than he was a year ago! I guess just more to love!

Winter Grooming
Before Front View
Before Side View- Look at all the curls!
Before Side View- Look at all the curls!
After
Today Kris got his yearly buzz. For the past 4 years Kris has buzzed his head the week of Thanksgiving and then grown a beard. It all started when he wanted to grow a beard, but I told him I did not like that much hair on his face and on his head at the same time. After he did it the first year, we both liked it so much that it is now a yearly thing. He keeps the beard and short hair through the winter. He usually shaves the beard the week prior to spring break, due to our yearly spring break trip to Florida. He says it so he can get sun on his face. But with us not going this year (because of Karson's arrival) I am not sure when he will shave the beard and begin growing the hair again. Anyway he had more hair than usual to shave off this year. It was very long and had quite a few curls!

Kicking off the Holiday Season
On Friday night we had a dinner party at church to kick off the holiday season. It was fun to dress up (even if I couldn't wear one of my little black dresses). But I did get to wear the red dress my mom bought me. I think I am going to get a lot of wear out of it during the holiday season. It was just a very fun night with friends. Oh and the food was outstanding!

Nursery Furniture
Tonight we went to Pottery Barn Kids and got the Nursery furniture. We bought the crib and changing table. They are both in the dark espresso color (like the picture of the crib). I got the pictures off the website so the only one of the changing table is in white. I think we might still get a dresser as well. It was a pretty exciting night! I can't wait to start getting everything in order in the room!

It's a BOY!
We found out that it is a BOY! We are super excited! I think Kris was starting to think it was a girl--- because he said it couldn't be a boy since that is what he wanted. Since Hogan is a boy too, I guess I will be the only girl in the house for now. We have also decided on a name already, which is Karson Jacob. I have already picked out the bedding and I will post pictures soon.

Poor Hogan
Cuddling with Daddy
Just watcing some football
Doesn't he look cute????
Just watcing some football
Doesn't he look cute????
Hogan has a cut on his side and we are not sure where it is from. He keeps messing with it and so it won't heal. This morning Kris had the bright idea of putting a t-shirt on him so he couldn't mess with it. I just thought he looked so cute that I had to share the pictures.

Happy Birthday Hogan
Hogan celebrated his 1st birthday yesterday. He really had no clue, but we tried to make it a special day anyway. Kris took him to Petsmart to get a birthday treat and a bone. Instead they came home with three new toys and a huge bone. I guess he really is spoiled--- but he has really enjoyed his new toys! These pictures are from last night when he was playing with an old toy, but really living it up on his birthday!

Cousin Day 2009
All the cousins
This past Saturday my family had "cousin day" in Missouri. It is something we do every year. All of us cousins get together and enjoy some time at the creek and then enjoy lunch together. I had not gone in quite a few years, but it was a lot of fun this year! The weather was perfect! I did not play in the creek, but I got some pictures of Madison playing in it. It was fun seeing everyone. We took a picture of all of us--- it is unbelievable how many of us there are (and there were quite a few people missing)!

First Game

On Saturday we drive down the College Station for the first A&M football game. This is Kris' favorite time of the year, so he was very excited to get there. Hogan went along for the trip. We got there early to eat lunch at The Potato Shack. Which is my favorite place to eat & it helps that the friends we stay with own it. Then we headed to tailgate early in the afternoon. It was fun to see people we hadn't see since last football season.
The Aggies played the New Mexico Lobos. It was a great game! The aggies looked really good. Which I am hoping will continue this year. Trips home last year were a little rough when we kept losing! The final score was Aggies 41- Lobos 6. Go Aggs!!!
We headed back early this morning since Hogan refused to sleep and we were afraid he would wake the whole house with his noise. But we did get to stop at Sam's for breakfast buffet. (For those who don't know...Sam's is this little hole in the wall in Fairfield. They are well known for their food. I think they were on food network once.)
So I guess all in all it was a great weekend and I know we will be doing the road trip quite a few more times this football season.

"I got a new job...oh and Kristin's pregnant"
That is how Kris liked to share the news to everyone that we are expecting. He would throw it in right after he told them about his new job. It caught many people off guard! We are thrilled that we are expecting a baby in March. And it has been very fun to share the news with everyone we know. Kris has been much more creative than me at ways to share with people.
I think the grandmothers to be are just as excited. And relieved that we finally told people. They both did a great job at keeping the secret as long as they did!
