Smiling for Pop's

Karson smiles this big every day when his Pop's comes home! I guess he really is a daddy's boy. He giggles and laugh when he hears Kris' voice.

Sitting Up

This morning watching sports center with Pop's
while we got ready for work

Last night playing with Frank the Tiger on the bed

This past week Karson has begun to sit up very well on his own. He loves to do it too! He loves to sit and play with his toys.

Missing My Lil' Monkey

Jumping in the jumper after bath time
(no he's not naked--- he has a diaper on)

I guess his fingers taste good

My Lil' cutie!!

Saying.."Yum, yum" at dinner time.
He has gotten better at eating cereal from a spoon.
Most of the food makes it into his mouth.

I started back to school this week, and so I have had to leave my little monkey at home. We had a very fun summer and I was just getting into the swing of things with him. But he is with his Grams for the first few weeks so I know he is in good hands. However, it is still hard to leave him at home, while I am at work. I know that it is part of life for us so I better get to use to it. Plus, it will definitely be harder to leave him at daycare in a few weeks. The best part of my day is when he wakes up smiling in the morning and when I get home in the afternoon and he is smiling at me. I have realized I better cherish the few hours we spend together each evening.

Celebrating Early

Okay so blame it on me thinking about school starting, or summer and me not keeping up with the calendar, or me just being crazy....but I celebrated Karson's five month birthday a few days early. Kris kindly pointed out to me on the way home from dinner tonight that it is the 13th today and Karson was born on the 15th. So I was a few days early yesterday. He will be five months on Sunday.

Give Me Five

Being a nosy neighbor this afternoon

One of our favorite toys--- our play mat

Today Karson turned five months old. He is doing so many new things now. Here are just a few:
* Rolling over both ways more
* Being a wiggle worm all the time
* Smiling all the time
* He loves to watch "God Made the Animals" DVD & baseball
* Loves to play in the pool--- splashing is a new favorite!

* He talks all the time-- not sure what he is saying but he does

* He seems to be recognizing his name more when we say it

* He is recognizing people other than Kris and myself

* Creeping--- mostly backwards but sometimes forwards too

I am loving every minute of exploring these new things. I can't wait until next month to see what he is doing!!!!

Splish Splash

Karson floating on the big turtle

His face after he splashed himself in the face

Splashing with Aunt Judy

Today we went to Aunt Judy's house to celebrate my Dad's birthday. It was a hot day so we all enjoyed the pool! Karson swam for over an hour! When he was swimming Karson decided to start splashing in the water. He loved to splash with both hands. It was pretty funny to watch him splash himself, as well as the person holding him. He loves the water so much, I can't wait until next summer. I think we might have a little fish on our hands.
P.S. His hood is up in every picture to ensure he doesn't burn his head, since he has very little hair. But at least there is a manly shark fin on the top of the hood.

When Karson Grows Up...

he could be....

a towel eater,

or the next Hugh Heffner,

or a doctor....
or whatever his little heart desires!
We took these pictures this week and I just thought they were all different things he might want to do when he grows up. I especially love the little robe. Not that I want my son to be the next Hugh Heffner, but it really is funny! My cousin gave us the doctor outfit. It says Baby M.D. on his backside. Too cute!
