Trying to pose with Daddy
(this picture was actually from when we went on Sunday,
but since I didn't go today I don't have pictures from today)
(he climbed all the way to the top on his own...not sure if that is good or bad)
Watching dad cook
Kris started his short summer vacation on Monday. He gets 4 weeks off, so we are trying to take advantage of every second. We went to the Arboretum on Monday for Family Funday, which includes the petting zoo. It was hot so we didn't stay too long but Karson had fun showing his daddy the animals. Then today Kris took Karson to one of the city's spray parks to play in the water, while I stayed at home and tutored. He also helped Kris cook dinner and they danced a little while they were at it. All in all I think they are both enjoying their time together.

15 months
Karson turned 15 months last week. He is doing so many great things. Here are just a few:
* He is walking & running like crazy! He is into everything! I am definitely chasing him all day long!
* He has now decided that some days he will not eat much and some he will eat everything in sight!
* He is saying some words like mama, dada, hi, bye, dog, please, cookie (even if they don't always sound like that)
* Not saying this is great but he loves to watch cartoons in the morning. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Yo Gabba Gabba & Special Agent Oso. If he sees me looking on the guide or on demand he points and smiles at the TV. He also can hear the hot dog song from the Mickey Mouse show and run into the room and dance.
* He loves to swim & play outside.
* He is a little attached to me these days since we spend all day together. I am hoping this accomplishment is a short lived thing. I guess it will be once school starts again.
* He loves to dance! He is always shaking his booty! Unfortunately he has rhythm like his mommy. Just see the video below.

Last week Karson & I went to Missouri to visit my Grandma. She lives in the country. We call it a farm but there really aren't any animals there anymore. But Karson had fun in the cooler temperature and fresh air. We had "Cousins Day" on Saturday. It is kind of like a family reunion with a twist. It was great to see all of our family!

Karson & Mommy at his first Cardinals game
On Sunday, Karson & I went to the St. Louis cardinals baseball game with Nana & Papa. It was Karson's first game and who better to take him than the biggest baseball fan and even bigger Cardinals fan in the family, Papa. It was a great experience to see the new stadium. When I was little we spent many weekends at the old stadium watching the Cards. I am glad that Karson got to experience what I did when I was his age. The Cardinals won on a walk off home run in the 9th, but it was bitter sweet because one of their best players got hurt during the game and is now out for 4 to 6 weeks. Can't wait to take him again next year, maybe even his Daddy won't have to work and can join us on our trip.

We asked, "who is ready to go to lunch?"
We went to the Arboretum today with Mandy, Macy, Madison & Nana to take some pictures of all the kids together. I took a few on my camera and Mandy took most of them with her better camera. These are just the few good ones I got. It was not easy to get Karson to sit still long enough to get one of all three of them, but we got a few good ones. After we took pictures Madison and Karson got to pet the animals at the petting area and play in the Peter Rabbit Village. He loved the animals. He kept squealing , staring and smiling the whole time. It was hot so we did not stay long, but the time we were there was fun!

jammies, but don't they look like twins?
Since the party last week was a surprise we had already planned our own joint 30th birthday party for Saturday. We decided to go ahead and have people over and keep on celebrating. It was another fun night. I think the kids had just as much fun as we did! It was a great reason to have people over!

Birthday Dates
dinner date
On my birthday Kris' mom, Karson and I went to get Karson's picture taken (I will post those pictures later) and we went shopping. Then she took Karson & I to lunch. So I guess you could say Karson was my lunch date. Then that evening she watched Karson so Kris and I could have a nice dinner just the two of us. I will say that my dinner date was a much neater eater than my messy lunch date. Either way I had two wonderful dates on my birthday to make the day extra special!!!
